pixels and paper july challenge

oh love the colour this month,

getting out these items from my cupboard,

 white Kaiser card stock,
the Crafters workshop stencil -  dots
Derivan blue kindy glitz,
Ranger Distress Crackle paint - picket fence
I proceeded  to splotch over the design,

I made some dots on the corner, but afterwards, i did no like it , ohh, how to change it now,
So out to the kitchen to get my big clear dinner plate to cut the circle out.
my photo  used to be a large long photo, here i have used shaped dies that i bought in a special  group of  ones  and hadn't used them , but thinking today, i wanted a different shape instead of my usual square or circle photos, yes, why not,
At the same time i  got out my kaiser die, i was thinking of adding the whole swirls to the layout, but it just was not working, so then thought, why not make the swirls smaller, and thought of just little bits from under the photos,  but then ended up all of them under the photo. ( one photo made into 3 )

I use this blue all the time ,and then wondered after i cut the circle, gosh , i  hope now i have the right blue to put under it , its pretty close, i will have to go to the shop and buy lots more blue  card stock again. soon. as i use this a lot in my layouts.

I have inked white Dew Drop Brilliance - white around the edge of card stock & also  the View from the top on my chipboard letters,
Also have sprinkled  some enamel dots  around the page.
around the edge of the inner circle, i have with my finger, smeared with some blue kindy glitz

Paper Craft July Challenge

thanks ada for this lovely challenge. of making flowers and the  sketch.

For my double layout, i have chosen krafters korner papers, as well as  card stock

which way to go with my flowers,  I have chosen to go with organza and silk flowers, After cutting out lots of circles in various sizes,  i then got my candle, (  that i made  a few years ago) and started to  light  the edges, being careful  not to burn them, i did use some find lace as well, but it just makes a hole in it,
i have added to some centres, some  hot glue & added artingredients micro beads as well as some bling flowers and swirls,

until next month looking forward to next months challenge

sketchy boards July challenge

thanks sketchy boards for this great sketch and colour with frames  challenge,

At first glance, i noticed the embossing on the white, oh thats so pretty, i should  do something like that, as i have an embosser  and the folders , I dont use very much after wanting to get them for so long,
I embossed  my white card stock , then with my Dew Drop Brilliance, that I bought from scrap matts, i smeared over  the raised section, & punched with Martha Stewart punch

Next to get out stencils Porta craft frame and with the  gold ink i rubbed over the stencil over the white card stock in 2 places,

Around the edges i have used Easy Stitches and in black tomboy pen, gone around the outside  to give a border. i had started with only 2 edges, but it looked unfinished. so did the lot.

I have used a  Kaiser stamp with writing on, using StazOn - jet black ink

In my abundance of stickers i found some border stickers, hearts and ovals frames &  flowers to add to the page.

I have  bought, the other day, some gold fabric flowers from Smart kraft  from Choice. which has little pearls on the back of the flowers,
The little blue flower is from Tracy from My 2 Angels, Tracey has some lovely flowersas well ,as many other trinkets .

The frame, i have also inked with the Dew drop galaxy gold

last year at  a retreat, i received some gold flakes, im not really sure that they do anything for me, but being gold, thought, that they might fill in a patch that looked fairly blank.

with Amy Tangerine Stencils, i  smeared with my finger, some gesso after a few minutes, sprinkled the flakes over it, then shook off the excess,
hope you like my  layout,
thanks for challenge,
until next time

white with 1 July challenge

Thanks for  this challenge,

My 1st thoughts were to get out my stencils, ( which i thought i should use more &  gesso, ) so in to my paints, sprays and inks, amazingly i didn't have any of these colours to match the challenge,
 ummm
lets see,  what Kaiser papers do i have in this colour, start at A-  I did not get very far, when i remembered that Belle Collection has this very colour, so it began, i  different idea would emerge.

After sorting out some goods i recently bought, i came across some thread which just happened to be the colour, i did not plan on sewing, but instead of finding a home for  such the little thread, why not use it, it took me a few days to finish the sewing, as out a far bit of late,

Saturdays is my day with mum, but decided too cold today &  and i wanted to finish this , so i can start my next challenge , while i have a few days free.

As my White card stock as my base, then with my  sewing , i used Hot off the Press -   paper piercing Patterns in a scallop edge & pieced the holes in and then sewed them

I went on a scrapbooking  bus trip  to toowoomba recently & found some lovely Blue Fern Studios Clipboards,  Today I used Boston lattice, & matted my photo on with some card stock onto the lattice,

Searching though, my abundance of project life  journal cards, this smile card just the right colour combination. white with one colour,
Also sitting on the table i found this lace doily and bits of belle collections  6 inch papers,  I round cornered them
In to my flower stash,  is Smart Kraft Fabric flowers  and krafters korner ribbon flowers,  so i arranged these
The moments in time is another chipboard, from a craft shop.

I have  stamped these  with
 a  verse
lattice with a butterfly  with drew drop Brilliance  moonlight white ink,
 & used  Kaiser stamp.
i have also found some white pearls, which i bought from my friend Sharon Pick,
until next month
have a wonderful day.

Kaisercraft July Mood Board Challenge

Thanks Kaiser for this great challenge and to my lovely friend who suggested that I give  Kaiser challenge   a try.

To my friends, im  the Kaiser lady, as I have so many papers,  stamps, inks &  the  collectables, that hang from my craft room door and now cringe when i open & close the door,  really,  maybe im addicted or ( obsessed )
i just love to know that my money is going to a Australian company.

I really started when Kaiser was quite small  (  to me unknown)  and have the very 1st issue  book,&  in those days was able to keep up with their stuff, these days, im finding it difficult to keep up with all the new ranges and life is more hectic since i retired from work. i remember &  still have the 1st tissue box that  i made,  but this is not about going down memory lane,

When i first saw the colours, my first thoughts were , what papers do I have in my cupboard, with  these colours, maybe limelight, or velvet crush, maybe la di da, but that has pink in it ,no reject that  idea,  maybe go down to Kaiser and check out the new range, oh wow,  that Botanic is just so lovely, im not into greens mostly, but  that is so lovely.

While there i wandered and thought about my friends birthdays coming up, so in the basket they went ,got to  the check out and thought,  gosh, i really would like it , but ( A) do i have the room to put it,  or be,  will i have enough money  to buy it ,(lol) so decided on just getting the 6 inch paper pad and the collectables, and see what i can create with that,  that would be a start.

So on that  note, I started my layout. most times, i start with the card stock, but for a change, i thought i would do it different, so, I have chosen  Kaiser Velvet Crush paper as my base & then cut my Kaiser white Coconut  card stock  29 x 29. I then thought, i would like a stencil which one to choose, something girlie, is i had picked out a photo of myself, one  i haven't used  yet, from Kaiser, , of  course, its the  Kaiser quarter  stencils, flora, out came my gesso & spread it over, so let it dry, while i have tea.

Next came out my Kaiser inks, i have chosen Kaiser IP 704 Amethyst and Kaiser IP703 Moss  have spread over some of the design.

I then  picked out  papers that interested me from  the new collection, Kaiser Botanic and some from the velvet crush  & started to create,
I have also used Kaiser Licorice to add in between some of the papers for added depth.

I don't usually measure,  what ever does with me, a nip here or  cut there,  ( only at class if asked to )
I have torn parts of the Kaiser white coconut  card stock and placed some small collectables underneath,

The only parts that are not Kaiser is the rose and the butterflies, which i received as a ramdom prize winner in April,   everything else is Kaiser products,  even the bling on the butterflies is Kaisers  bling.
I have typed out the date and printed out and put on one of the cards from the Botanic collectables, and placed several others word captions   around the  layout,

As you may notice, i have inked around the papers and embellishments

Hope you like it, I  had fun and look forward to doing more challenges with you. until next month,
have a great day.

paper craft addicts card challenge

thanks paper craft  for this challenge

I love anything that's a bit different, and love pop up layouts and cards, at a recent  show, i saw these pop up cards and thought, well, that would be different,

so today, i made it for the challenge, after  a few boo boos,  like cutting   the size without really thinking at first which was  the flowers are going to look on the card , pasted it down, then realized the flowers  and leaves were all upside down,  and i went and stuck them down with that nice  red sticky tape, didn't in.
i know i have a few flaws in it, but i know my mum wont mind and wont know, if i don't say anything. she just loves anything, i  hand make. her birthday is tomorrow, the same days as the Story Bridges turns 75,

mum told me that she remembers when the bridge opened in Brisbane, my  mum is 8 years older,
anyway,   better stop chatting

scrap with us July challenge

July, where has  April, May and June gone,  July, challenges,

This is for  Scrap with Us challenge.  Jody Urquhart  So here it is...The July Sketch
I would like to see your background as any other shape but square on this one! The sketch uses a hexagon I have also created a funky ribbon banner on this one rather than your everyday type banner!
Can't wait to see what you create!

so , here is my version, of course, the shape i started off with was not square but another shape, but it did not look  right with my photo, & so to look for something that has brown in it and this is what i came up with.   i  have started off  using red card stock as my base..
and added a brown zigzag paper. In my stash i also have some scraps, you know, one day , you will finish that layout you did 3 years ago, with  the left over papers,  well, the colours were just the right colours of my dress,

Here I have used the patterned papers of konnichiwa, my friends will be in shock its not Kaiser. i have used  the fabric  flowers of the same  collection.   The red and green flowers are from Little Birdie Holiday Elements, i had planned to use these on my Christmas cards this year, but oh well, they looked so well together and matched my dress perfectly.
Actually the pretend lace is from a 6 inch paper pad of Kaisers, which  I haven't  got the name to. which is unusual for me, as i usually know all the names of the collections,
The ribbons for the banner, are from the Christmas  crackers,  so i have kept  them in a little clear box, and when i require small batches of ribbon,  i can use these instead of getting out the big roll.
the title i just typed on my trusty computer and printed them out onto a4 card that i buy from the cheap shop its really nice quality card and goes though the printer without any hang ups
