paper craft addicts - card challenge

First of the month, its a bit cool here, today,   but what better time to get creative, after the last 2 months of being busy with family commitments and not feeling like doing anything, Once I got home except sleep, i just could not think of anything,

 now  my mind is running  wild again with ideas and want to get into  creating layouts &  cards again.
I thought , that first i would create  another challenge, that they give you before the month is due, then saw, Ada Nichols  with paper craft addicts, i just knew this would be one of my first to do , well its in the process and then started another, so i have a few in the process,
 But then this morning ,I  thought, I  would do this card  and finish something , before the plummer came.  he turned up  late ,but rang to say he was running late, so  that was fine,

don't you hate it when they don't ring and you have slotted your day  to do things and nothing happens, at least the plummer  rang, so i just worked around him  while he was working out quote i did some more of the card.

I have used 3 of my embossing folders, to create my card,  i don't use these often enough,  but they are were  a delight to use them today,and will try  to get some on a layout, which i never seem to do .

This month I have a simple fun challenge for you... DOTS & STRIPES. Can a card anywhere, anyhow as long as they some dots and some strips. Simple as that!

With my card, I have started with the embossing folder  from Craft Concepts Stately for the edging.

then have used  Kaiser La-Di-Da 6 inch pad stripes paper, then embossed  some Close to my Heart pink paper . and  used  Cuttlebug  dots, embossing folder 

  The flower is also embossed with Craft Concepts Embossing folder, called Spotted Flowers, Very appropriate   for the occasion.

 I have then die cut some swirls, (I  did not keep the name of this brand, )I've had it for years, i love Swirls   and inked it with Versecolour green ink,  then added a white bow,

 To finish off, i  have used Ranger Glossy Accents .

I have inked around  the edge of card with hot pink ink. pad.

123 challenge for may

Here is my may challenge,

Gosh , the month of may  is nearly over, where  it has flown,  by next month ,half way though the year.

Tonight, i thought, i would just do a fairly simple page  as now getting close to month now feel like making some layouts, so  i can not afford them to be too complicated at this time of the month.

As I started my mind was thinking of another challenge, that starts with a white sheet of card stock, then realized, that I was not doing that one as it had too many things to add to the page,
Like Banners  for one, the word Baby and the colour Beige.

So With white card stock , i then found my patterned papers,  it wasn't til i was almost finished the layout, that the papers are really for wedding papers, so with a bit of altering , i think i have  got rid of the rings on the page.

This paper is from Porta Craft  papers, using the beige doves  and then cutting out some birds and popping them up with foam tape over the rings.
With the striped paper is from the same collection and instead of getting out my machine to cut a circle, i just used my double sided tape and hand cut it out.

The Title is OUR BABY NEPHEW Greg. done with  American Crafts Thickers Sweetie range  already made in banners with letters on, how cool is that ready made.
The small butterflies are from Studio Calico Stickers. and have attached them to  string over the page

I have added a 4 x 6  Journal card .as well.

as its getting a bit close to the end of the month, i have been busy with other things and was going to miss  the challenges this month, to have a break. but today, i realized that i have got the paper out, i might as well do them

With this  layout, i have used  card stock of Kaiser and also using scraps i have had for a while, the one with the ice creams has on back of what left its time breaking free adventure series. & Kaiser oh So Lovely 

 The Ice creams are from Kaiser Save the Date Embellishments .

  

Artaste April Challenge

What a great challenge, i just love swirls and thought that this one would be a snitch  to do, after all, i love anything with swirls in , but being so close to the end of the month  i  wanted to rush with it, so my first 2 attempts, with gesso and sprays, did not work as well as i expected and my third attempt i did not like the end result, a friend of mine once said  sometimes simple is always the nicest with out going to too much trouble. so that's what i  did. and i love it better than my previous attempts at this one.

To start off, i found some patterned paper with swirls in it and a sheet of purple card stock,  Out came my lucky 8 punch and with 8 simple punches, my design was made i then attached it to the bottom of  the page. 
I  then added  black card stock to my photo,
and in my stash i have lovely bling with swirls, so placed them on the page along with some pretty flowers that i bought to make cards with, but they did not get onto the cards.  all this was  attached to white card stock.
 I have also inked some  glittery swirls in pink and yellow to the page.

 so i started off with white card stock and with my lucky 8 punch, and my patterned paper & plain purple card stock,  I set about punching,  only 8 punches on a 12 x 12 sheet and one can have a lovely shape.

I then  got out  my swirls and ink some yellow and pink, and also got out of my stash of bling  my clear swirls and  recently bought some tiny flowers without even realizing that   they would come in handy, I had originally bought them to make cards with.

I then matted my photo in black

Pixels and paper April Challenge

 hi, what a great challenge this one is,
something with bikes, i thought,  oh yes, my friends and I drove to the Gold Coast last year and while we were having tea, i saw these cute bicycles and said to my friends , lets  go and have a ride the taxi ride( with bikes )  took us back to our car, which was several blocks away. we all had a fantastic time that day and evening.   we awesome foursome have great adventures last year and  hope to have more this year.

So, to start my layout, colours,  ummm, I know this is not new papers , but fairly old, but the colours are what i  was after , black  white and grey, These papers are from Kaiser and are from the   Extreme collection.

In my stash I have cogs, some of the cogs are from Finnabair - cogs and gears. So have painted some of the cogs with grey and blue with inks and the chain was a fluorescent aqua, here I  have painted it white,with Kaiser paint.

While drying, i found my cog stencil, also from Kaiser and with Adirondack acrylic paint dabber pearl, have dotted around the edges of the cogs.

I have placed the Kaiser paper onto Grey card stock and have distressed all the edges.

The mat behind the photo is Kaiser Garage Days along with the cycles under the title. Our bike ride,
The cycle in the bottom right hand corner is made of chipboard and bought that from my friend Sharon Pick  who also sells lovely charms.
then it was just a matter of assembling it all together,
