Welcome   to a new year  2020 its come around so quick   do you have new years resolutions  or just  taking each day as it comes
ive had  the pleasure of again being on the design team  for  Karen  Dixon  at Mixed  Gypsys  scrapbooking  &  arts  shop to bring you lots of  ideas   to use

all products  can be bought from mixed gypsys ( except the helicopter   on page )

do you have lots of photos that  you can not choose which one to  use,  im always taking lots of  photos  & then having to decide what to use,
My photos   this time  on my double layout are from a friend of mine  who was in  my brothers class at primary school, i saw  his photos & instantly wanted to create a layout  using  the photos  after getting  his permission to  use them. again  which photos to use   they are all so wonderful , why not try to get as many as possible  on a page .Here i have  used 18 photos  on one side, but you can add more ,  and 2 on the other  page i still have more photos left

  • With my  double layout  i have  done some  mixed  media , using  Colour Blast  texture  paste  and using a stencil  Be Arty stencil
  • Also playing with   something new for me  is  jacquard  pinata colour  lime green and sapphire  blue alcohol   inks  seeing i didn't have  the blender, i thought i would try  Isocol  which allowed me to blend the colours  onto a acetate sheet  with  a blending tool . i have only place  a bit on the first page  it only takes a minute  to dry . so you have to  work quickly  with this
  • I have distressed  all the edges of my  papers

  • my next  thing i did was to use my be arty stencil,  with the waves and the dots. so using  Colour Blasts   texture paste , (i just love the smell of this stuff ,)  maybe i shouldn't smell it a lot  dont know   health  issues on it   but using my finger , you can use a paint brush or  spatula i  just smeared though the stencil  i did both at the same time  while still wet , you can  leave one to dry and then go  over  its ok  what ever  works for you .
  •  while you have your texture paste and   ocean papers   create  a strip of  waves and dots to cover at  least  3 inches wide  as this will become your second page

Karen gave me a sheet it had no name  so have  fussy cut out  the  flowers. you can  cut  only the centres  if you like  to make them  look like sea  urchants

  • while  that is all  drying we will go cut the papers
  •  I have free hand cut  each of the papers  at different  levels to represent   the ocean  waves.     and have distressed  it and  have  also with the texture paste  ran along each edge  to give it depth
  • cut  at  3 1/2  inches  the one with  the  texture paste on. next one at 3 3/4 and last one at 4 inches  place  the 4 inches down first then work up
  • add  your   string like  ribbon  around half way on the page
  • the  acetate sheet   you can  cut  to size you like i  just added about half an inch and glued it  under the  papers as  some  glues   show  and  its not a good look .

the helicopter  is from  one of my cricut cartridges ,as   the photos were taken  in a helicopter  so  only fitting to add it  to the page

  • i have used 2 -   5 x 7 photos  but have shorten the sides to 4 inches & placed a bit under the  papers so only that  6  inches or  a little more is showing
  •  add your  cut out  flowers to the page
  • add your title ,  i have written on  my computer and printed mine out and then matted it

this is   page one complete

page  2 .
  • with your   serenity (   fawn sheet )  you need 2 sheets ,  8 pieces  when finished ,  i have cut  at this way  to make the most of my paper ,
  • trim    2 sheets  of  fawn cardstock. to  10 1/2 inches  one edge, left over   bit can be used for  journalling if you like
  • then  cut at   3 & half inch  off  one  side .  trim  this  short  one again  on other edge at 7 inches. put aside we will be using it
  • with the 7  inch piece, turn  &  cut 3  - 3 1 /2  inches  ( 3 )   7 inches by three and  half  .do with second sheet   so  you will end up with  8 pieces

  • fold  the long side over to make a folder   on each  of your  8  papers,  so that  its   3 1/2 x 3 1/2
  • trim   8 pieces  of  green  cardstock  3  1/4 x  3 1/4
  • trim   7 pieces light blue cardstock  the same as above
  • trim one sheet of white cardstock to  3 1/2 x 3 1/2 this goes in the middle of your page
  • trim  mottle paper  the  3 inch  x 3 inch  these can go where  you dont have photos

trim your photos  to  3 x 3 inch  and i have distressed  them also
trim your  dried  texture  papers to  3 x 3 inch and place  on  3 places at the front of  2nd page

pages opened up

enjoy

cheers
