Thanks 1 2 3 for this amazing challenge
1 colour - Silver
2 word - Believe
3 technique - layers
at the start of December, i thought, gosh, i dont have much in line with silver, and layers ohh, the word believe, i would think about, & getting close to Christmas, would i have time for all my challenges, maybe give it a miss on all, but thats not me, i like to give them all a go,
it wasn't til last night, that i was talking to my hubby and said , i really like doing the 1 2 3 challenge, but the paper is getting me stumped, he suggested i use aluminium foil , something a bit different, and so my layout begun. ( he doesn't usually help in the scrapping area)
At a recent Craft Alive here in Logan, Sofia from Scrapmatts showed me this awesome little tub of wax,
Im trying to get stuff that does not take up a lot of room , so when Sofia showed me this wax, next question which colour combo to get, just buy all of them , just use your finger to apply, no need for special tools, love that idea, then i have every colour, would you believe there is silver in it and gold for my next challenge, ( that i also have been hanging off to do ) & brass ,which i dont think i will have much use for , but you never know hey
so i have coloured the presents, tree, the word believe in this Metallic wax rub on
Also at scrapmatts some small chipboard that had the word believe.
i thought well, im not going to do it all silver, add some colours to the mix, while sorting for papers, in my scraps ,( funny what you find in your papers ,what are they doing here always a treasure to find things in my stash ) i then came across doilies ,which are in silver and gold, ( which is another challenge. yeehaa )
i felt that it needed something else, so got out my new Heidi swapp stickers, ohh yes, its silver, why didnt i think of this before i started to lay it down to see where it would look nice, and part of it stuck to the photo, well, i guess you are going here , as i did not want to ruin the photo i think it just finished off the layout,
I have used my new Kaiser dies and created the word Christmas and the Reindeer and the Baubles all with the aluminium foil it took a bit to get them though getting the right depth, so a it would not cut right though or not enough. a few attempts to get it right, but hey, im so wrapped with it ,
no cardstock is used in this layout,
I have used
I have used a combination of Scrapmatts and Kaiser chipboards,
Kaiser papers - silent night,
D'Lish heart silver doilies
Creative die -woodland scene die
Heidi Swapp sticker sheet Love this ( a prize from sketchy boards a few months ago)
cheap circle doily ( another hidden treasure )
glossy accents on presents, tree
im soo happy with this layout, im wondering if i can find more paper to now do a double layout to put the rest of the photos from this event finished.
Until , next year, wishing all you a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful and Exciting New Year,
well, now i have gold, i can begin the next challenge, and then have a few days to put my stash away and finally see a floor. before the family arrive for Christmas
thanks for stopping by, see you all next year for more exciting challenges. there may be some months where im not available, but thats life hey.
