hi my fellow followers

i know its been awhile since ive written on here , usually its just challenges i post on here , but today just thought , i would write something .
so  after being away for 2 weeks , a first  as we only ever  go away for  6 -7 days  at the most,  i came home with enthusiasm with lots of beachy photos to  create layouts,

on the 1st of every month, i  get excited about  doing the months challenges, print out  sketches,& colour palettes,  that are required and photos , yes ,there is a lot ,  and i usually do  most  of them. in one month, so i just do the ones that  have blogs on here &  last year,  you would have been sick of seeing two hundred and twenty two layouts on here  you would have unfriended me LOl  so only put up ones that have  some  blogs, not the 216 challenge, which is  more of inspiration  challenge to see how many  you can get done in one year .

so then  my next thing to do is to go down to Kaiser and browse  the  paper racks,  ,yes,  i have lots at  home  ( enough for a shop  ) ,but  most times, i just like to look though theirs in a  orderly fashion and then decide
, yes i have that paper at home or no, i need to buy this paper for this challenge, and collect the new ranges   near the start of the month, with  magazines,  and to chat to the wonderful ladies at Kaiser of course an extra bonus.


but  as Kaiser closed for good on the 4th march,  i haven't felt like doing any now,  i haven't got that , feeling  oh i have those papers, i will go home tonight and create,maybe  feeling .am i in a lull,  maybe my challenge  days are over,  i hope not ,  but maybe i just need to  take a seat back and do   something else  ??
,

I dont know ,if doing 222  layouts last year  has also dampened my spirits,  although , this year, i dont have to do 217  in the challenge,  im only up to 21  at the moment  a far cry from last years count.



last year , i was at the craft alive show here in logan, and saw a beautiful mini album,  by sandy Rufus with heartfelt creations, papers, so i bought an album  with  papers, and thought  my mum is turning 85 this year, i will  make her a  mini album, well,  i have a operation ( eye)  coming up soon and i really want to get  it started , but what if i  make a mess of it,  then  it will be ruined, so  i got this brainy idea   on saturday night, why dont i  do one for me,  i haven't found all the right pics for mum yet,

so here is my front page

 now to  go and find all my photos   that i have  had had taken over the years  of  Halloween. i may get back to   challenges, maybe i just need a break. for a few weeks,   after doing a few pages here  in mini style, i may get my mojo back  before the end of the month,

i suppose it wont kill me not to do challenges, but it  keeps me   sane LOl  and  now that i have bought all these papers from Kaiser  i best start  using them, maybe cause i bought so many before they closed, that im overwhelmed with them all  now finding a place to put them.

i may have to   sort them again and see what papers i will really use,  kit them up and then use them that way and whats left sell at another  garage day sale., i still have over 400  that  a lady was going to buy off me  2 years ago but fell though,  that was  though online,  im a bit   not so sure now to go that way again.  but will see  how i go.

White with  one feb ,challenge


for some reason ,today i had denim in my head , that was for this challenge, so  created the layout to suit those colours, it wasn't til i was about to load up , that i had a double check  and found it was BLUE JEANS,  seeing that i had  glued down most of it with  liquid glue, dash it , i just  can not pull off and start again and i really liked the spraying of the colours in my 1st layout, i tried to darken it by using black  but that just ruined it completely.
 i should have just left it alone ,   and added it anyway,
so after  changing a few  things ive come up with this .

1 2 3 Feb Challenge

Welcome to another month of challenges, im running a bit late this month as i have been away on a relaxing holiday with  my husband, with  no scrapbooking allowed in the van,  theres not a lot i can do , except  take photos  (which i love doing ) and  walk along the   beach and some days it was soo hot , i  sat in the river  close to the shore,  just so tranquil, where we were  and no scrapping shops , but i did  venture into a newsagency and found a  scrapbooking magazine  ,shhh.

so today's layout is using
Kaiser tomato cardstock ( cut out middle to use as  photo  mat as my  last sheet, i have no idea where im going to get colour  in future , as Kaiser is closing  on 4th march, im soo sad as its so close to everything, that i can sneak in there on the way to shopping ,  bank , and fuel )
I went down today to get more  sheets ,as i use this a lot , but they did not have any reds at all, i love the bright red tomato  colour.

Kaiser Blue Bay Collection  P 5385, here i have sprayed it with  Dylusions  Postbox Red  ink spray, left for just a tick & then using   my wet ones  rubbed over the page, and set aside to dry
I have used Ultimate Craft 216 white cardstock
Kaiser Hummingbird patterned   paper  - flight  P 782
the  flowers and ferns are a  mixture of flowers that i had  in bridal bouquets, that i have now cut   and using on my layout.  (  was my hobby when working  and now  an addict at scrapbooking so  have cut  up all my  wedding bouquets  to add them to  layouts )  
 The  word  Friends is from Kaszazz
 i have used liquid pearls Cottonball as edging  at bottom of page
Red Butterflies are from  A  Mothers Art   ( Kelly Ann Oosterbeek, )  just love these   to finish off a page
my black pearl flourish is  from Kaiser P1514
the    bling  around the photo are from  Rosies  Diamante tape
i have  used a Kaiser Cherry Blossom  stencil  that i bought  from Shelleysland , to  colour in the flowers and stems  with Kaiser  pens

i would like to complete  5 more challenges, but only  have 2 more days at home , rest are filled with appointments  etc   maybe only  get a couple more done , im still in holiday mode. but they are  nice with  my favourite colour  blues

lowood and surrounds jan, feb challenge

Im  not one   for writing a  lot of words  on a layout  so when i saw this challenge,  i  thought,  well,  i may not do this one   i can not think of how to work   these  into a layout .
the challenge is open  til 28th feb
the words are  FAMILY , LOVE   FRIENDSHIP.

it wasn't til , i received some sad news of a scrapbooking friend that  had passed away,
  at our last camp at springbrook,  lynlee, said  you  have the most amazing adventures , i was just wondering when are you going on your next  retreat and where, so  my friend  and  i told Lynlee, that we  were planning on going to   Gladstone in february, 2017 and linked her to the site,
we have been chatting to  each other  since  the camp in October  last  year,  and getting excited as the date is getting closer,  then  she pm  us  and said that  her operation  that she was to have  in December  was cancelled, so dont know when it  will be, Lynlee  then  wrote another  one  after Christmas and said that her operation was going to be  2 weeks before  our trip and  now   she wont be able to  go ,as she wont be  up to  walking very good ,   so i cancelled   the trip as well
i also   have now changed my travel plans,
Lynlee , wrote to  me after the op  a few days ago, and said that  she thinks she will be in hospital    longer than a week, but   not in my wildest  dreams did i  think i would see on facebook, that  she   had complications and passed away,
it was  last night,  while thinking of her, that the words  came into  my head,   family . love and friendship,  and so my layout began this morning.
Even though,  Lynlee was not truly family,  she belonged to the scrapbooking carmaking world,  
so  on the layout i have worded ,

 Even though Lynlee  was not True Family,  we  in the scrapping world  thought of her as Family,
The Love  we all share and the Friendships we all have  just by knowing her, will leave  her footprints in our hearts forever,  a sad end for a beautiful lady.
the layout is in memory of  Lynlee,   may she rest  in peace.  and we never forget  her .

123 challenge January 2017

123  january challenge
1   - is the colour , blue,  (  my favourite colour )
2  - is the  word ,   proud
3  - is the techniue    stars.
this is a great combo  to start  the new year with,

I have used  the base blue , Kaiser Ocean.
I have also used  prickly Pear Kaiser  patterned paper
some collectables,
Kaiser star stencil.
and the flower was a  part of a gift,  thats been sitting on the table , waiting to be used .

with the stencil,  i used  Gesso & while the stencil was  in place,  i then  added   script   stamp and randomly  stamped over it ,  then lifted it off ,
I have coloured the large stars with  yellow sunshine texture paste from   colour blast.
 and Kaiser inks , slate and  white

A2Z scraplets Janaury Challenge

A2Z January, 2017

Wishing you a very Happy Scrapping New Year.

Thank you for making  January one an easy one to do, I think my brain is in burn out  stage at the moment. its a great sketch, 

I was challenged to  do  216 layouts in  a year, last year,  yes, it’s been accomplished  with doing 222 layouts,  i went from  9  photo  boxes down to  4,  so thats got to be something,  i may get  more layouts done, this year,   but not sure if i will be counting this  year.

Which brings me  to   today’s layout, 

My greatest addiction is Kaiser papers, and of course having  a Kaiser shop  so close, it  makes it more tempting,  so i found a photo, and drove down to Kaiser 

There i  found the new collection-  Ubud Dreams . 

instead of cutting off the bottom with the writing, for a change, i left it  on.

Im not sure what brand the scallops chipboard is , but the  flowers are from the  new  Kaisers collection ubuds dreams chipboards

i have used  Emboss it dabber by Ranger and White embossing  powder,  from TJs Scrapping with Style &   i  know that when i  use these i start sneezing,  so  get it done quickly,  but just love the effect it has when finished.

i have matted my photo with black card stock &  put words again from the sticker sheet of ubuds on it  

the door is from the same collection  in the  collectables. 

I have set myself a few challenges, this year,  and that is not to write soo  much   just keep to the basics,  instead of boring you with  a manuscript,  ( next month will start this LOl)  

i have seen  one lady's blog,  and she only writes   the paper. inks  etc, about 4 lines,  so i will try this method,

my challenge for the year  is 

write less  of a manuscript on the blog LOl  (  doing not so well in January )

 I’m going to do some mini albums,

  Also  saw some great sketches,  last year,  have printed them out & would like to  do  them this year, and finish my  new Zealand albums with the sketches,

Kraft Plus , January Challenge 2017

Welcome all,
 Welcome to the New Year,

Can you believe we are in  2017,  yes &  the  first of the  year and i have completed my very first challenge &  i  did mention to someone ,that  i may cut down layouts this year, LOL  im off to a good start.

As  soon as i saw  the bike,  i knew what to create,
I recently  received a  card making book , well, last year now, seems funny to write  last year 2016 .  In it had  a bike die ,  from Creative Dies and some stamps  to go with it . Enjoy the journey.
i wondered  if i would  ever use it , ( but just thought,  buy the book, last one for the year )something might pop up ,and it did ,here in January.

I have used  in my layout today -
Kraft  card stock , ( only 3 sheets left,  will have to go purchase more )
Color Blast  Sunshine  Texture  paste ,  dont  you just love this stuff.
Inks are Dewdrop Brilliance  -  graphite black,  sky blue and white,
paper pizzazz Easy Stitches
Kaszazz  stencil  -waves &  diamonds
the cogs  are unknown of  maker
have printed out  on my printer the  word  in training  for  Triathlon

I have added some   yellow  butterflies from  A Mothers Art  to  the layout  ( always a favourite with me )
